Srinagar: Doctors in Kashmir Wednesday protested against the rising incidents of violence in hospitals all across Kashmir and as a mark of protest wore black badges during work.
The call for the protest was given by president Doctors Association Kashmir, Dr GM Mir, faction.
The medicos and the paramedics in various Kashmir hospitals wore black badges to express their anger and sorrow over the frequent attacks on doctors in different hospitals.
Doctors Association Kashmir has been demanding for promulgation of an ordinance, under which assault on medical professionals will become a non bail able offence and simultaneously any person or persons found guilty of damaging the hospital property will have to pay three times the cost of the damaged property. It is unfortunate that Govt is not taking our plea seriously even though there are repeated acts of violence being perpetuated on medicos day in and day out across the state, said Dr G M Mir.
