Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) Tuesday extended warm greetings to Pandit community on Mela Kheer Bhavani.
Hurriyat (M) also welcomed the huge participation of members of Pandit community in the Mela, adding, occasions like Mela Kheer Bhawani have always promoted communal bonhomie in the state.
On the occasion of Mela Kheer Bhawani, members of Pandit community come to Tullamula to fulfill their religious obligations while Muslims receive them with open arms. He said this tradition has kept the communal ethos of Kashmir alive for centuries. Pandits have been a wise people and are capable of understanding the importance of our centuries old traditions and communal brotherhood, he said.
At this juncture also when certain vested quarters are eagerly trying to use this community for their petty political gains, it is hoped that the Pandit Community will see through the game plan of these elements and defeat their designs by keeping the traditional harmonious relationship of Kashmiri people unharmed, he added.
