Srinagar: Claiming the responsibility of Tangdar attack in frontier district of Kupwara, Hizbul Mujahideen Tuesday said a group of militants from Hijazi Squad of the outfit gunned down at least 8 army soldiers.
Hizb Operational Spokesperson Burhad-u-Din told CNS on phone that, a group of militants from Hijazi Squad of Hizbul Mujhideen created panic among Indian soldiers near Darshi post in Tangdhar Kupwara, when they after cornering them from all sides, showered countless bullets on them, killing at least 11 Indian soldiers.
It was not an infiltration bid but a pre-planned attack. Our one Mujahid Abu Bakar attained martyrdom when he tried to snatch rifle from an Indian soldier. Hizb Chief Syed Sallahuddin, Deputy Commander Hizb Muhammad Saifullah Khalid congratulated to the Hijazi squad and has declared a cash reward for them, Burhan-u-Din said.
