Ganderbal: The District and Sessions Court at Ganderbal Friday awarded 10 years sentence to an accused in the case of an abduction and rape of a girl registered at the Kangan police station in 2013.
District and Session Judge Ganderbal Ajaz Ahmed Mir awarded ten years imprisonment to Muzafar Ahmed Raina son of Ghulam Hasan, a resident of Margund Kangan. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on the accused. If they failed to pay the fine amount, the accused has to undergo an additional term of one-year.
The accused had abducted a girl on 16 November 2013 when the victim was on way to Preng to visit her relatives. After the complaint registered by the father of the victims, police had arrested the accused and an FIR vide number 113/2013 was registered against him.
The Public Prosecutor Syed Saifudin had informed the court that during police investigation and through medical report it was established that the accused had sexually assaulted the victim at a stretch for three days. Justice has been delivered to me but I was expecting a severe punishment for the accused who ruined the life of my daughter, father of the victim said.
