SRINAGAR, MAY 15: A delegation comprising Mr. Mohd. Shafi Pandit Chairman, Bedil International Foundation (BIF); Prof. Qamar Gaffar, Secretary BIF; and Prof. G.N. Khaki, Director, Centre of Central Asian Studies, Kashmir University, called on Mr. N.N. Vohra, Governor, here at the Raj Bhavan today.
The delegation apprised the Governor about the ongoing activities of the Centre of Central Asian Studies to nurture deeper understandings between India and countries of Central Asia, including Afghanistan and Iran. To enhance and enlarge the existing ties the delegation solicited the Governors support for the establishment of a Research Centre on Silk Route Studies as an adjunct of the Centre of Central Asian Studies, Kashmir University. The Governor agreed to address the President of ICCR for the establishment of the proposed Research Centre.
