Srinagar, May 14: (GNS) Police on Thursday arrested two persons along with 20-bags of sugar of CAPD department meant for black marketing at Tangmarg area in north Kashmirs Baramulla district.
Station House Officer (SHO) Kunzar Abdul Hamid told GNS that following the frequent complaints from the general public about the black marketing of food grains in the area, a special police team was constituted under the supervision of SDPO Rameez Rashid Bhat.
The team after carrying out a raid at Kunzar and seized a vehicle bearing registration number JK01M- 3816 who was carrying 10 quintals of illicit sugar, the official said.
The official further said that two persons have also been arrested in this regard and a case under FIR no. 38/2015 under section 409, 411 and 120-B has been registered and further investigations taken up.
Meanwhile, the local residents of the area hailed the police action. (GNS)
