Srinagar: A CRPF trooper was critically injured when an unknown private vehicle hit him after he tried to stop the driver to pave way for the entry of a CRPF vehicle into Amargarh Sopore Industrial Estates Camp.
The incident occurred during late hours in North Kashmirs Sopore town of District Baramulla on Tuesday.
Reports said that CRPF constable Ajit Kumar of 177 Battalion in a bid to clear the road for a CRPF vehicle so that it could enter into the Amargarh camp came out and tried to stop a speedy private light vehicle that was on way to Sopore from Baramulla. The driver reportedly took the signal of the Constable as an unwarranted command and deliberately hit the constable and ran away towards Sopore.
Public Relations Officer CRPF Ashish Kumar Jha said that the constable was critically wounded and was shifted from 22 RR Unit Hospital to 92 Base Army Hospital Badamibagh.
A police official said that they have registered a case an investigation has been taken up.
