Srinagar: Ambassador Yusuf Buch, US based Kashmiri ideologue and champion for Kashmir cause was hospitalized in New York City on Monday.
Ambassador Yusuf Buch is an observer and a direct participant of Kashmirs struggle for freedom since its inception in its modern form in 1931, said Ghulam Nabi Fai in a statement from Washington.
Buch Sahib came to the United States in 1953 as a winner of an International Essay Contest sponsored by the United Nations. Later, worked as a correspondent at the United Nations. Also, ran a Free Kashmir Centre in New York from 1957 to 1972. He was the member of the Cabinet of the Prime Minister of Pakistan from 1972 to 1977. Later, he was appointed as Pakistans Ambassador to Switzerland in 1977.
