Srinagar: Police and army busted a hideout in the forest area of Sagipora in Bomai area of Sopore in north Kashmir in Baramulla district and recovered cache of arms and ammunition including six AK rifles and 54 grenades, a senior police officer said here.
Today a joint search operation by police and 27 Rashtriya Rifles was carried out in Sagipora forests area and during the search operations the joint party busted a hideout of terrorists and recovered cache of arms and ammunition including 06 AK Rifles, 50 AK-Magazine, 756 AK rounds, 08 Detonators, 03 Pistols, 01 Pistol Magazine, 19 Pistol rounds, 30 Grenades (40mm), 03 UBGL, 13 IED Big, 20 IED small, 11 Grenades(90mm), 13 Chinese grenades, 4.5kgs Gunpowder and 07 meters Safety fuse, the officer said.
A case under FIR number 29/2015 has been registered in this regard in police station Bomai and investigation have been taken up, he added.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) North Kashmir confirmed the recoveries to reporters. He said the searches in the area are on.
