Srinagar: Senior PDP leader and Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Drabu Thursday said the coalition with the BJP was build to make Jammu and Kashmir economically self sustainable.
Drabu said the state government is making efforts to make Jammu and Kashmir economically viable and politically stable. My priority as a Finance Minister is to make the state self sufficient so that we get rid of the begging bowl syndrome, he said.
The Finance Minister said that the alliance between PDP and BJP is focused on development and to receive maximum help from Government of India to put JK back on track.
Commenting over the reports of liabilities of Rs 9000 crore, Drabu said, People question the present government what happened to such a whopping amount and how it was spent. All we have prioritized is that no funds should lapse anymore. The central funds need to be spent.
He maintained that gradually the financial crisis will end in JK and the state machinery will give relief to the people.
Over the delay in salaries to employees as reported in several departments, Drabu said, in near future all the government departments would be issued salaries in time. There would be no longer such difficulties faced by the state government employees. The crises would get over soon.
