Tipri: Concerned over the bad condition of roads, particularly in snow prone areas, Congress MLA from Inderwal, G. M. Saroori asked the State Government to adopt European technology while constructing roads across Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that Jammu and Kashmir government should introduce Soil Stabilisation Method (SSM) on the pattern of European technology.
To ensure durability and check early damages caused to the roads, particularly, in snow prone areas of the state, Saroori called upon state government to introduce SSM on the pattern of European technology for macadamizing roads, which would not only increase life of the roads but also save Rs 5 to 6 lakh per Km approximately.
Saroori said that this technology would create new avenues for the engineering sector, adding that money thus saved would be utilized for creation of other infrastructure facilities.
”I am hopeful for good and positive response from Chief Minister and R&B Minister, it would save several crore rupees which could be diverted to other developmental projects,” he said.
