Srinagar: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) today hailed the court judgment in which four persons convicted in brutal rape and murder of Tabinda Gani of Langate Kupwara were awarded death sentence.
President DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan said that though the verdict will not replace loss and heal wounds of victims family but will act as a deterrent for such crimes.
This verdict will send a message across that such offence cannot be tolerated and nobody will dare to do such crime in future.
The offence was fiendish and unparalleled in the history of criminal jurisprudence and exemplary punishment was need of the hour to give a strong message to such criminal minded people
This ghastly crime had shaken the whole society and court was duty bound to pronounce such a verdict.
This gruesome act of rape and murder had sent shock waves across the whole nation and public were expecting such a punishment.
Such criminals are indeed a menace to the society and should have no mercy.
Such beastly acts were unheard of in our society because of strong social, cultural and moral values which we have lost.
Society has an obligation to stand against such social evils and rise to the occasion to regenerate lost values so that our women feel safe and protected.
