Bandh Anti-Kashmir: PDP
Srinagar: Terming todays Jammu bandh as an anti-Kashmir move, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday accused opposition National Conference and Congress of polarizing state over the establishment of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the Valley.
Youth president of PDP Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra said: It (Bandh) is an anti-Kashmir move supported by NC and Congress. They took votes from Kashmir and now when any move vis-à-vis development is being initiated in Kashmir — which has suffered a trauma — they are playing politics over it.
He said the AIIMS will not only benefit the Kashmir region but will also serve as a state of art medical facility to the people of other regions of the state. When it comes to Kashmir, they are seeing it regionally, he said.
Lashing out at the two parties, the PDP leader said that when in power, the two alliance partners establish military camps, garrisons or bring the battalions of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and army in the state instead of speeding up development activities.
For pellet guns and military garrisons, the NC and Congress choose Kashmir and for health related development, they (NC and Congress) are selective, he said and alleged that that the two opposition parties want to divide and polarize the state in the name of medicine and health.
In Kashmir, the NC is for rehabilitation and when anything is being done for Kashmir, they are united in opposing it tooth and nail, he said, adding: the PDP doesnt want any politics over it.
They have no issues and they want to bifurcate the State, the PDP leader added.
