Srinagar: Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Friday left for New Delhi where he is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi over a dinner meeting later this evening.
Sources said Mufti is scheduled to discuss prevailing political situation in the state with Modi besides flood situation. Mufti will brief the Prime Minister about the situation in the state arisen due to the recent heavy rainfall. He (Mufti) is also scheduled to take up the issue of release of Rs 44000 crore flood relief package, sent by the state government earlier, with Modi, they said.
Mufti will brief the Prime Minister about the present flood situation in the Valley and is likely to seek funds from the center for dredging of flood channels, sources told KNS.
The latest meeting of Mufti, who spent last few days in Kashmir overseeing flood management operations in the Valley, is seen as an important political development in the backdrop of reports that PDP may join NDA government at the center.
