SP, MP Higher Secondary Schools to be developed as Model institutes
SRINAGAR: Highlighting the need for improving education system in the State, the Minister for Education, Syed Naeem Akhtar said that authorities associated with education sector must make concerted efforts to improve the system.
The Minister was addressing a meeting of officers in Banquet Hall Srinagar here today. He said that Education Department is formulating a transfer policy shortly which would go a long way in improving the system in the State. He said that government is making every effort to strengthen the education infrastructure in the State to provide quality education to the students.
Minister for R&B, Mr. Altaf Ahmad Bukhari was also present in the meeting.
The Minister announced that the historical MP and SP Higher Secondary Schools of Srinagar would be developed as Model Institutions .He said besides providing improved and quality education infrastructure the schools would be equipped with competent faculty also. He said a governing body is being constituted to look after the administrative matters of these schools. He said that government is contemplating to develop other model schools in the old city of Srinagar.
Naeem Akhtar warned the officers of the Education department that they should be committed to their profession and any laxity and dereliction would be severely dealt with while honesty and dutiful officers would be encouraged. He said government is making all efforts to raise the bar and improve the quality of education in the State. He urged the officers to take advantage of MGNREGA scheme for strengthening education infrastructure in rural areas.
The Minister for R&B, Mr. Altaf Ahmad Bukhari who was also present on the occasion said that quality of education in the government schools should be improved to the extent so that students would prefer government schools over private schools.
The meeting was attended by Director Education Kashmir, Chief Engineer R&B Kashmir, Principals DIET and other concerned officers.
