KATHUA:-The Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh today chaired a Gho Raksha Sammelan organized by the Gho Sewa Samiti at Lakhdi in Tehsil Billawar of the Kathua District.
Gopal Mani Ji Maharaj, Ex-MLA Durga Dass, Sarpanchs/Panches, prominent citizens and large number of people attended the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Singh impressed upon the people to rear the cows as its milk is a good source of protein, fat and minerals such as calcium. It is easy to digest and also provide disease resistance and improved intelligence and memory. He further said that for the children cows milk is very important as it helps in overall growth of the children.
He further said that the cow dung manure is also good for the soil as it improves soil fertility and increases the yield of crops as well, adds significant amounts of organic material to the soil which improve the quality of soil.
