Srinagar: A 15-year-old boy died after a the vehicle he was driving colloided with a speedy truck at Lawaypora near HMT in the outskirts of Srinagar city on Friday morning. The victim was identified as Hatim Latif Zargar, a class 9 student of a private school.
Police sources said the deceased along with his friend Momin Ahmed Pandit was on way towards his residence Umarabad Zainakot in his vehicle (JK0AS-391) when the speedy truck (JK13C-5411) rammed the vehicle causing the death of the boy on the spot. His friend Momin Pandit suffered critical injuries and was rushed to nearby hospital.
The truck driver whom police identifed as Fayaz Ahmed Dagoo of Kakapora Pulwamma was arrested soon after the accident.
A case vide FIR number 66/2015 has been registered and the investigation has been taken up, Station House Officer Police Station Parimpora Muhammad Ayoub said.
