SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is leaving for New Delhi on Thursday to discuss the present political situation in Jammu and Kashmir with central leadership. He is likely to hold a separate meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Sources privy to this development said that it is the first visit of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to New Delhi after assuming office of the chief minister in the state.
It was informed that the chief minister will held a series of meetings with several union ministers at New Delhi and is likely to discuss the present political scenario of Jammu and Kashmir.
As per sources, Mufti is likely to meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and would hold a separate one on one meet. The two are expected meet at dinner on Thursday at 7 Race Course Road.
Pertinently, the chief minister earlier on the floor of the house had suggested that his government would initiate a gradual process of AFSPA revocation from the state and that he would take the concerned authorities on board while initiating the process of revoking the law.
Also the visit is seen by many as an important one due to the recent meeting of separatist leaders with the Pakistan High Commissioner at New Delhi and the address of the governor NN Vohra in assembly which hinting that the government will initiate dialogue with all the state holders for the resolution of the pending issues. kns
