Srinagar: Teachers serving on temporary basis in Schools Wednesday staged a protest in favour of their continuation of services here.
Scores of teachers carrying placards and banners assembled at Press Enclave under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Temporary Teachers Association.
They appealed to the higher authorities especially Governor of the state, chief sectary, secretary education, divisional commissioner Kashmir and director school education to order continuation of our service till the new establishment takes over. We urge the authorities to fulfil these vacancies by experienced and qualified teachers, the protesters demanded.
They alleged that Government is recruiting 12th pass students for RT teachers who are not able to teach but higher educated candidates are being ignored.
The protesters announced to organize a similar demonstration very soon if their demands are not considered.
