Srinagar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and National Conference on Monday released list of their candidates for the biennial-elections to the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council.
According to a press statement issued by BJP National General Secretary, Jai Prakash Nadda, the Central Election Committee of the party decided to nominate the five candidates for the Council Elections in State.
The BJP has nominated Sofi Yusuf from Kashmir Province, while Tsering Dorjung has been nominated from Leh Province. The party has nominated three candidates from Jammu Province including Ramesh Arora, Charanjit Singh Khalsa and Vibodh Gupta.
The National Conference, which faced defeat last years Assembly polls, has nominated Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo and Qaiser Jamshed Lone respectively as the candidates from the Jammu and Kashmir divisions for the upcoming elections to the Legislative Council.
Decision to this effect has been taken after the consultations with the President National Conference Dr Farooq Abdullah and the Working President Mr Omar Abdullah, a statement issued by the NC read.
