JAMMU: Refusing to accept that Delhi poll results would have any bearing on the government formation In Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Tuesday said it would go ahead with the negotiation on government formation with the saffron party.
The party has reportedly rejected the possibility of re-election fearing that would send a wrong signal down the cadres. Highly placed sources in PDP said that the party has even finalized the list of negotiating team which would enter into formal talks with BJP in a next few days.
KNS reported the PDP team would be headed by senior leader and MP, Muzaffar Hussain Baig and would include Tariq Hameed Kara, Dr. Haseeb Drabu, Syed Altaf Bukhari and Nayeem Akhter. Sources said that the five member team would finalize the arrangements of the alliance with BJP once the common minimum programme is given a final shape in formal talks.
Meanwhile PDP chief spokesman Nayeem Akhter clarified about the party patron Mufti Mohamamd Syeeds statement regarding the advice to Prime minster Narendra Modi on Delhi poll results. He (Mufti) is a statesman and a leader of national stature. He is concerned about what is happening in the country and must have realized that something must have gone wrong, said Akhter.
He said, Mufti had issued a statement on January 25 that Modi has to be inclusive and gharwapsi slogan wasnt acceptable. Akhter added, that nothing serious should be read between the lines with regard to Mondays statement. He also confirmed that the informal channels between the two potential allies were still on and people from both the parties were in touch to reach a consensus on the CMP.
