POONCH: A border security force personal attempted suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle along Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sepoy Bir Singh Meena of 62 bn BSF (A- Company) deployed along LoC in Balnoie Sagra in Mendhar area of Poonch fired three rounds at himself with his service rifle resulting in injuries today morning, sources told GNS.
He was airlifted and was admitted in military in Rajouri where he is undergoing treatment, they said, adding that he belongs to Rajasthan. The trooper is said to be in critical situation.
Meanwhile, police has registered a case and started investigations that what led to the trooper to take this extreme step.
