Srinagar: Strongly condemning the creating of curfew like situation on the 2nd anniversary of Mohammad Afzal Gooru, crackdown on the pro-freedom camp, restrictions over the special prayer meetings and detention of hundreds of pro-freedom leaders and activists Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani Monday said that these restrictions are insult to our brave-hearts and by following these types of policies, the government was inviting a big trouble.
While reiterating his demand for the return of the mortal remains of both Mohammad Maqbool Bhat and Afzal Guru, Geelani in an emailed statement from New Delhi said, It is purely a human issue and not a political stuff so the authorities in New Delhi should shun their cruel-heartedness and return their bodies to their families without any further delay.
Today the Kashmiri nation is remembering the sacrifice of the obedient son of the soil who was secretly hanged at Tihar Jail in India two years ago and whose last written letter has become a new mile stone of the freedom struggle of Kashmir and he had made a history. This brave-heart of Kashmir didnt show any kind of weakness in his stand even in the last movements of his life and he gladly sacrificed his pious life for the better future of his nation. Shaheed Mohammad Afzal Guru has become an ideal for the youth of the Kashmir and his courage has set-out an example for the whole nation, he said
Today we were going to held special prayers for this person but the government turned the entire state into a prison, created curfew like situation everywhere and placed hundreds of pro-freedom leaders and activists into custody. It is a highly condemnable act on the part of Indian government. The rulers of India should not forget the fact that they cant force the Kashmiris to give up their just and genuine demand and nor can we forget our brave and bold people. India is testing us from last six decades through different cruel and autocratic means and have left no stone unturned in suppressing our freedom struggle however it not only have miserably failed in achieving this goal but the freedom sentiments of the Kashmiri nation have shown an encouraging and rising trend and our new generation is more sensitive towards the struggle, Geelani added.
