Srinagar: Indian Dental Association Jammu and Kashmir (IDAJK) today in a meeting at Srinagar castigated government for continued suspension of President Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) Dr Nisar ul Hassan.
State secretary Dr Javid Qanungo in a statement said that DAK president has been implicated for raising voice against public issues which is unjustified and illegal. DAK president has exposed infamous spurious drug scam in which many people are facing prosecution. He has filed public interest litigation in this regard which is pending in the Honorable High court. Dr Nisar has been raising significant and vital issues of public concern within four corners of law, he said.
His endeavors in this connection deserve to be praised rather than terrorizing him. Dr Nisars suspension is ironically against freedom of expression which is otherwise guaranteed by Indian constitution. Dr Nisar who is working as an Assistant Professor in medicine at SMHS hospital is a honest and dedicated doctor and has achieved laurels in his profession. His continued suspension has given immense sufferings to patients under his treatment, he added.
IDA JK has decided that if Dr Nisar is not reinstated immediately Dental Surgeons across the state will go for indefinite strike and will support DAK for any programme in this regard.
