WHAT is there in name? Indeed much is there in name. Every time it is pronounced, it serves as a reminder, a picture and an association. And that is during the earliest times the need for the nomenclature was felt. In order to understand anything at the basic level and to sense the meaning of association from it, it is given the name “Blood Money”. At the very first instinct the name itself creates a fearsome and dreadful picture. Blood alone is a horrible word and adding money to it makes it sound a perfect oxymoron like the “greedy goodoers”.
In the pragmatic sense blood money in our parlance is a distinct and specific term and as much fearful. It is the amount of the money given to the parents of those youth who get killed at the political instance. Who get killed while making the use of their fundamental right of making protests and demonstrations. Who get killed against the rule of killing; a gun for a no-gun; for empty hands raised high in slogans. It is the money that the government gives to the parents of the slain parents; for parents are born the day a child from the heavens is bestowed as the greatest blessing to them. Eventually they die a cold death with the death of their dearest.
The mind tickles, what for, the money is given to the parents that too at the name of “blood”? Giving them money for the hottest blood that was shed to coldest at the open street? Is the price of a youthful son, a few rupees? What is the wailing mother supposed to do with this money? Consider it as her son or to purchase one another son from the amount?
Nothing on the planet can substitute the loss of a youthful child to the melancholic parents, who are robbed of their soul and left with a mere breathing body. Why on the planet is the blood of our children so cheap that it paints the roads and drains red. Are they the creation of a lesser God? Absolutely no. It is the tyranny of the time that is being harsh beyond limits But;
Time is a natural reversible phenomena…
