Ganderbal: Authorities placed three employees of Municipal Committee Ganderbal (MCG) under suspension while police registered a formal case after an important file (Agreement Document) containing vital data and information about the tax collection post (Chungi) allotment went missing from the Municipality office. Police have also lodged a separate FIR against a local contractor after Chief Executive Officer MCG registered a formal complaint against him in police station Ganderbal.
Confirming the incident Chief Executive Officer MCG, Anees Chodhri told CNS that there are reports that file has been stolen by a contractor in connivance with a casual labour who had been allotted the Chungi contract illegally. He identified the contractor as Muhammad Amin of Beehama Ganderbal.
A top official from MCG blamed previous Executive Officer for the mess. He said that former MCG Executive Officer presently posted in the office of the Director urban local Bodies had violated all the rules last year and allotted the tax collection posts (Chungi) to one contractor Muhammad
Amin against the bid of Rs one crore, two lakhs for a period of ten months without signing any required government agreement with the contractor about time period, way of working, rate schedule and modes of payment.
Station House Officer Ganderbal Asif Iqbal confirmed that after filing an FIR (15/2015 under section 457,380) into the incident, they filed another FIR (16/2014 under section 420,467,468,471) against the contractor on Wednesday. We have taken up investigation and everything will come to fore after few days, he said. (CNS)
