Pulwama: Scores of families living below poverty line in Lethpora Pampore area of South Kashmirs Pulwama district have been denied subsidized ration from past three years while they alleged that the officials of CAPD (Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution) Department have forged their documents to benefit themselves.
A delegation from Lethpora Pampore told CNS that some corrupt officials have forged their BPL ration cards as a result they are unable to receive subsidized ration from past three years. Some officials from CAPD in connivance with the local store keeper have forged our BPL ration cards and they have been securing subsidized ration depriving us of our due share, Mushtaq Ahmed told CNS. They said the local Ghat Munshi has been enjoying total immunity against any punitive action by authorities for his alleged misdeeds as he has been keeping the consumers enjoying political clout in good humor.
When contacted AD Food Pulwama, Shakeel Ahmed said the department will probe the matter and action would be initiated against the wrongdoers. (CNS)
