Poonch: The officials in Mendhar town of Poonch district Monday conducted market checking and found two Public Health Engineering (PHE) workers running their own shops prompting a senior official to call for enquiry against the duo.
A team of civil and police officials led by Sub-District Magistrate (SDM) were conducting market checking in the town during which a fine of17050 was recovered from various shopkeepers. During the checking, the officials also seized sub-standard sweets and vegetables while polythene was also seized.
As the checking was going on, the officials found two casual workers of PHE namely Zaheer Ahmad Khan and Muhammad Showkat on fruit and tea stall shops respectively.
The duo was running these shops from several years, the officials said.
SDM Mendhar, while talking to GNS, said: I have directed AEE Showkat Ahmad to probe the workers and submit report within one day.
Despite repeated attempts, the AEE couldnt be reached for his comment. gns
