SRINAGAR: Ahead of Indias Republic Day on Jan 26, government forces detected and diffused two Improvised Explosive Devices in Kashmir on Monday, an army spokesman said.
After receiving a specific input about the presence of explosive devices a pressure cooker-based IEDs was recovered in the morning hours at WatlabPazalpura road. The IED weighed approximately 5 KGs. The IED was planted under the culvert near Mundzi village of volatile Sopore town. In another similar incident, one more IED was recovered from NarbalGulmarg state highway. The Rashtriya Rifle unit carried out search of the area and recovered similarly designed pressure cooker-based IED. He said the IED was planted on the road in the garbage dump near Mazham village of Zainakot. The combined Bomb Disposal Teams of police and army diffused the IED.
