We are anguished with the repeated physical assaults on doctors and there seems to be no end to it, he said, adding: Doctors work in most difficult conditions without even basic facilities in peripheral hospitals.
He alleged that government has failed to improve health sector in valley and it is because of its in sensitiveness and indifference towards priority sector that doctors have to face public wrath.
He said: Government in order to cover up its inefficiencies project doctors as villains and have broken the age old patient-doctor bond. Hassan said that it is difficult for doctors to work in such hostile atmosphere and lots of doctors have left the valley because of these thrashings.
Government has failed to come out with an ordinance wherein a person manhandling a doctor should get a non-bailable warrant which has prevented violence against doctors in other states, he added.
