Poonch: After the gap of six months, police Wednesday arrested three persons who were accused in the gangrape of a minor school girl in Poonch district.
A police officer said that a school girl was gangraped by three youth on July 14 last year in Mendhar Tehsil.
However, they were absconding since then and police were looking for them, he said. The official said in this regard, a police team led by Station House Officer Mendhar, Sadaqat Qureshi under supervision of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Mendhar, Ramesh Kumar was constituted.
The team today arrested the three accused identified a Shahzad Ahmad of Sakhi Maidan, Murtaza Ali of Thehra Topa and Sarfaraz ahmad of Sakhi Maidan.
The official said that a case under FIR number 97/ 2014 under sections 366, 109 and 376 was filed. (GNS)
