Srinagar: The State Congress Tuesday while reacting to the reports of according state subjects to the West Pakistan refugees said any such move will be the violation of the state laws and such moves must be opposed in unison.
Talking to KNS, senior Congress leader and former minister Taj Mohi-ud-din said 65 years earlier, the laws of the state subjects have been formulated and now any action to violate any principle should not be allowed. West Pakistan refugees are non- state subjects and should not be given permanent resident certificate in Jammu and Kashmir. There could be some facilities provided to them but that doesnt mean that you can make them the permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir, Taj told KNS, adding there must be a common consensus between the parties so that any move that could trigger chaos shall be thwarted with joint efforts
He said that West Pak refugees must not be given any rights to vote in the legislative assembly. The refugees have got the rights to vote in the Parliament polls.
Over the protests by the Congress activists against the party chief Saif-ud-din Soz, hesaid that the workers and the activists should not have made the internal party matters public by going to Press. If there would have been any grievance, they should have approached the party high command. Protesting publically was indeed an unwelcome entity, remarked the former minister.
