Srinagar: National Conference (NC) Monday while expressing concern over what it termed inordinate delay by Peoples Democratic Party in formation of government in J&K, accusing it of being responsible for forcing governors rule in the state.
A core group meeting of the NC was held here on Monday to discuss the present political scenario. The meeting that witnessed the participation of senior NC leaders including its working president Omar Abdullah also deliberated over the issues coming to fore after the imposition of the Governors rule in Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to KNS, NCs core group member and Provincial President Kashmir Nasir Aslam Wani said that the meet discussed the present political situation and partys strategy vis-à-vis the same.
Nasir said that the meeting emphasized upon the need for the government formation as the state after the devastating floods needs immediate relief and rehabilitation measures sans any further delay. We wonder why PDP failed to form the government. It was playing the mind games, caring little about the plight being faced by the flood sufferers. Even NC is ready at this point also to support PDP for the formation of the government. Ironically, the PDP didnt pay any heed to such offers and it lad the state to the governors rule, he said.
Reports informed that on Tuesday a meeting of the contesting candidates of the NC is being held that also will be presided over by former chief minister Omar Abdullah. In the meet, the ground performance of candidates across the state will be threadbare discussed.
NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar, Abdul Rahim Rather, Mohammad Shafi Uri, Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzan, Mian Altaf Ahmed, Mohammad Akbar Lone, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, Nasir Aslam Wani and Provincial President Jammu Devender Singh Rana are expected to attend the meeting.
