Srinagar: With the announcement of elections of four Rajaya Sabha seats which have fallen vacant due to the expiry of the terms of four Rajaya Sabha Members Gh Nabi Azad (Congress), Saif-Ud-Din Soz (Congress), Gh Nabi Ratanpuri (NC) and Mohammad Shafi Uri (NC), senior Congress leader Gh Nabi Azad ceases to be the leader of the opposition in Rajaya Sabha. Congress party has now a constitutional obligation to name the replacement for Gh Nabi Azad at an earliest convenient date. State Congress president Saif-Ud-Din Soz is also no longer member parliament (MP) as his term as Rajaya Sabha member has expired.
