Jammu: A 21 year old youth was killed when an explosive shell went off in Darhal area of border district of Rajouri, an official said.
The official told GNS that the youth identified as Muhammad Manzoor, son of Shams-ud-Din, resident of Thanaman Darhal.
The slain youth was grazing cattle in a nearby field and in the meanwhile, he took an explosive shell in his hand, which exploded with a loud bang injuring him critically, the official said. After hearing the blast, locals rushed to the spot and took the injured youth the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, confirming the incident, the Station House Officer, said a case has been file under FIR number 8/2015 and investigation has been started. (GNS)
