Srinagar : Huriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Friday said roads to Pakistan must be opened if the Government of India (GOI) fails to provide basic amenities to the flood torn Kashmir valley.
According to the KNS correspondent, Mirwaiz while delivering Friday sermon at Kashmirs historic grand Masjid said that the GOI has completely failed to mitigate the sufferings of the people of Jammu and Kashmir who have been devastated by the September floods.
He castigated the authorities over curtailing the Kerosene quota, saying that in already power starved Kashmir, people are being cornered amidst worst flood crises on ground. He accused the New Delhi is revenging the people of Kashmir at present and is leaving them at the mercy of the situation.
Kashmirs chief cleric maintained further that if New Delhi fails to provide the basic amenities to the people here that roads of Muzarabad must be opened so that assistance from that side would be sought at an earliest.
He also took a dig at the state authorities saying that they even have failed to fulfill the basic needs of the people here. Let alone the resolution of Kashmir issue. They should leave it to us but they have even failed to provide cooking gas and sufficient electricity to the perturbed people of the state.
