SRINAGAR: Eid Milad-un-Nabi will be celebrated with religious fervour across Kashmir Valley on Sunday with special prayers being held at different shrines and mosques.
Thousands of devotees are converging at Hazratbal shrine, which houses the relic of the Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) on the occasion of his birthday.
As part of the celebrations, special prayers will be offered after afternoon congregational prayers at Hazratbal shrine and devotees will have the glimpse of holy relic.
The clerics will address gathering and throw light on the life of Holy Prophet (SAW) and his teachings.
Special congregational prayers and processions will be organized at Jinab Sahab Soura, Asar-i-Sharif Shahrif Kalashpora, Lal Bazar, Khanqah-i-Maula, Ziarat Hazrat Dastgeer Sahib (RA), Syed Yaqoob Sahab (RA) Sonwar, Khawaja Naqshband Sahab (RA) and Ziarat Makhdoom Sahib (RA).
Special prayers will be also offered at Masjids and shrines in Anantnag mainly at Jamia Masjid Reshi Sahab, Khiram Sirhama, Kaba Marg, Dooru and Seer Hamdan.
On the occasion, buildings and shrines in the city are being decorated with colourful buntings, banners and fancy lights.
Despite biting cold, night long prayers will be held at different shrines. Scores of volunteer organizations were seen busy in managing the public affairs at different shrines.
The Divisional administration has made special transport facilities from all the routes leading to different shrines especially Hazratbal shrine.
Apart from shrines, special Naatia Mushairas and quiz programmes on Seerat-e-Mustafa (SAW) were held at different places on Saturday.
