SRINAGAR: Half a dozen top officials have left Kashmir Valley to enjoy warmer climes of Jammu leaving flood and winter hit people in Valley and Ladakh in lurch.
According to the KNS, around six bureaucrats holding important positions in the Valley administration are presently camping in Jammu.
Reports said that the Director School Education, Kashmir is in Jammu with his office doors in Kashmir are closed for the people.
The temperatures in Valley are constantly decreasing with the biting cold affecting the normal lives at large.
Sensing delay in formation of the new government, the Babus have found it convenient to leave their offices unattended.
As the weather department has already predicted snowfall, the chief engineer PDD for Ladakh division, is also in Jammu with his office chamber closed in the mountainous region. Around 18 diesel generator sets generating power for some areas of Ladakh are lying defunct.
Director Horticulture, Director Agriculture and Director Sheep and Animal Husbandry Kashmir are missing from Kashmir valley too.
Pertinently, the Chief Secretary Mohammed Iqbal Khanday had said that efforts were on to deal with the problems of the general people and to address their grievances. We are here to meet people and resolve their problems, he had said. KNS
