SRINAGAR: The management of Dainik Jagran paid an ex-gracia relief of Rs.9 lac to Shafat Sidiq, photographer who died on 7 September 2014 while covering flash floods near Lalchowk Srinagar.
His body was retrieved on 11th September near Qamarwari Srinagar.
Shafat who is survived by aged parents, widow, 2 years old son and two sisters was working as a photographer with the Dainik Jagran Srinagar bureau for the last nine years.
The relief cheque was handed over by Abhimanyu Sharma editor Jammu and Kashmir and Navin Sharma bureau head Srinagar in presence of local MLA Mubarak Gul to the next kin of deceased at his residence today.
