Srinagar: While felicitating the people of Kashmir and the Islamic world on the eve of the sacred month Rabi’ ul-awwal, the third month in the Islamic calendar, Huriyat Conference (M) Chairman and head of Mutheda Majlis-e-Ulema, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said it is during this sacred month the Prophet Mohammad (SAW) was born. He said Islamic world and Muslims can end their problems only by following the teachings of Prophet Mohammad (SAW).
He said it was highly unfortunate that teachings of our beloved Prophet (SAW) who was the embodiment of love, knowledge equality and brotherhood, are continuously being distorted and a negative image of the religion of peace being projected. He said there is a pressing need that the teachings of Prophet (SAW) and Islam should be spread across the world in a proper Islamic context.
Meanwhile, Awami Action Committee and Anjuman-e-Auqaf Jamia Masjid would be organizising seerat gatherings during the month, to spread the message of Islam. Mirwaiz would be participating in these gatherings and would deliver sermons with regard to the teachings of the holy prophet in the context of moral and social values and responsibilities of a muslim,to fight against the growing anti-human incidents taking place in the society.
The first seerat gathering would be organized on December 26, Friday on the occassion of “Khwaja Digar” at the shrine of Khawaja Bahwudin Sahab Naqshband. On December 28, the AAC would organize the Seerat conference at Mirwaiz Manzil, Rajouri Kadal during which he noted Ulemas, intellectuals and other people would participate. On Jan 02, Anjuman-Auqaf Jamia Masjid would organize a the Seerat conference at Jamia Masjid Srinagar.
