SRINAGAR Facing sharp criticism for inability to track down the assailants in the acid attack case last week, IG Police Kashmir Abdul Gani Mir today directed the special investigation team to brief him daily on the status of the case.
IG convened a meeting which was attended by DIG CKR, SSP Srinagar, SP Hazratbal and members of Special Investigation Team (SIT).
“The IGP sought a daily briefing from the investigators with regard to the progress and developments of the case,” a police spokesman said after Mir chaired a meeting to review the investigations into the case.
In a statement a police spokesman said they have got several leads and investigators are working round the clock to work out the case in as soon as possible.
