SRINAGAR: A civilian, who was injured in the grenade blast in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on December 5, succumbed to injuries at SMHS Hospital in Srinagar, taking the death toll to three.
Police said that Fayaz Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Rasool, a resident of Laam, who was injured in the grenade attack in Tral last week succumbed to injuries at SMHS Hospital here this morning.
Two persons Ghula Hassan Gojri (60) son of Muhammad Abdullah of Zajikhud Tral and Muhammad Shafi Gojar (27) son of Muhammad Jamal of Dodhmarg were killed while 11 others injured in a grenade attack in Tral bus stand on December 5. With the death of Fayaz Ahmed death toll reached to 3 on Friday.
Eyewitnesses told CNS that a complete shutdown was observed in Tral against the death of the civilian. All the shops and business establishments remained closed while transport was off the road. Scores of people staged a protest near bus stand Tral and demanded immediate arrest of the assailants.
SP Awantipora, Tahir Saleem said that the matter is already under investigation and culprits will be booked soon.
