Srinagar: Suspected militants Thursday evening lobbed a grenade inside the house of a close relative of Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) leader in Batamloo here.
Official sources said at around 6:45 pm, suspected militants hurled a grenade towards the house of Javed Ahmad Wani, who is the cousin of Tariq Hameed Karra, the Member of Parliament (MP) and senior PDP leader.
The grenade landed on the verandah of Javeds house causing damage to the property. However, no one was injured or dead in the incident, they said.
The incident occurred at Karra Gali in Batamaloo.
All the glasses, windows and walls have been damaged. But, fortunately, no family member was hurt, Ashraf Wani, the son of Javed Wani, told reporters.
Soon after the attack, government forces reached the spot and cordoned off whole area. The forces conducted searches in the area to nab the attackers.
