Srinagar: Downplaying the issue of Article 370, the BJP on Monday said that controversial Armed Forces Special powers Act (AFSPA) wont be in vogue if it comes to power in the strife torn state.
The party also accused NC and Peoples Democratic Party of being behind the Lal Chowk grenade attack, saying the remarks are not being made as the mere allegations but in the bases of merit.
BJP general secretary Tarun Chak remarked that the party will cross the 44 mark in the JK polls and that the state would witness the time of development and prosperity at large during the near future.
Meanwhile, the Partys Kashmir Incharge Ramesh Arora has stated that the issue related to the abrogation of the Article 370 is in peoples court and that people will have to take final decision over the issue.
Arora stated that the issue related to the Article 370 is in the peoples court and that also the AFSPA revocation is not needed to be created as a poll slogan. We are not like other parties that want to politicize such issues.
Ramesh Arora added that some political parties are unhappy as BJP has not been raking up Article 370 issue. Whey NC, Congress and PDP have a problem with us and why these parties want BJP to raise Article 370 boggy. BJP never said that it will repeal Article 370 but only said that it wants to have a debate on the issue that would involve general public, he said.
Arora said that Arms Forces Special Powers Act will become redundant if BJP comes to power in Jammu and Kashmir. We will create peaceful environment and will restrict the actions of vested interests. In our government, AFSPA will lose its relevance, he said.
He also stated that BJP doesnt want any support from the national conference after the present assembly polls for the formation of the government in JK. He maintained that coalition in the past decade has been formed in the state for grabbing power and that BJP is the only party that is confident that people will give it a thumping majority.
The BJP leadership has also accused that the recent grenade attack carried out at Lal Chowk was the political terrorism with some parties striving to benefit out of the violence. People here know better who has carried such attacks and why. Such incidents must be investigated so that truth could come to fore.
The leaders have also claimed that more than on lakh gathering will be witnessed at SK Stadium when Modi will address people on December 8.
PROBE DEMANDED: Urging upon police and civil administration to conduct a thorough probe into the mysterious blasts and killings that occur in Kashmir, Bhartiya Janata Party Monday said that some vested interests believe in political terrorism which can go to any extent to accomplish their political goals.
Take strict action against those involved in creating chaos and confusion in Kashmir. On the commencement of elections in Kashmir, mysterious blasts and killings occur. I appeal police and civil administration to expose these elements even if they are high profile ones, BJP leader and incharge Kashmir affairs, Ramesh Arora told reporters in Srinagar while releasing the vision document of the party.
He directly held National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party responsible for the blasts and killings in Kashmir. During Parliament elections, we witnessed political terrorism here and now as the assembly elections are underway, vested interests are trying to create same situation here to enforce boycott, Arora said and demanded inquiry into the blasts and killings of innocent people.
Taking a dig on Congress party, Arora said that this party believes in opportunism. Congress wants power only and it can forge alliance either with PDP or Congress to remain in power, he said adding that Congress party is least bothered about the worries and problems of general people.
