Srinagar: The main opponent of the chief minister Omar Abdullah in his Sonawar assembly segment, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Tuesday filed his nomination papers on PDP ticket at the DC office here.
PDP leader, MLC and contesting candidate for Sonawar assembly segment of Srinagar Mir filed his nomination papers here at DC office Srinagar with the party activists raising pro-PDP slogans outside the DC office.
Earlier, a rally was witnessed which started near Pantha chowk to the office of the district magistrate here with the party workers in hundreds of workers raising slogans for Mir and PDP.
Addressing people, Mir said that the time has come when people of the state and particularly of Srinagar would give befitting reply to national conference once for all. He maintained that the turbulent rule in the state is about to end that NC and its Omar has already accepted its defeat much ahead of the fight. He added that people will vote for PDP this time as they are aware that no other political platform could address their aspirations as much as the PDP has ability to address. Mir said that the large participation of people at his rally vindicates that the party is going to register a marvelous triumph during the polls.
