Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party Monday reacted over the reports of alleged involvement of National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah in Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) embezzlement to the tune of Rs 113 crore, saying it happens in Kashmir only that culprits roam free.
PDP chief Spokesman and MLC Naeem Akhtar took strong note of the reports of prima facie evidence of involvement of former Union minister Dr Farooq in JKCA murky dealings. While reacting to the reports he said, If it had happened anywhere else, all of the involved would have been in jail.
He added that this is another instance that NC has targeted youth. They did not spare even the sports facility of the youth. Police should immediately prosecute the guilty as the case is proved beyond doubt, Akhtar demanded.
A national news paper DNA has revealed that documents accessed by it show Dr Abdullah, along with nine JKCA office-bearers, are offenders under Sections 406, 168 and 120-B of the RPC for making the sports body a lending agency and for operating many bogus accounts. (KNS)
