BJP goes full throttle to woo voters in Chenab Valley
BJP is making inroads in Congress’s bastion of Chenab Valley with its star campaigners, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, set to take out mega rallies in the region to boost party’s poll prospects in the first phase of the polls.
Chenab Valley, which comprises of Kishtwar, Doda, and Ramban districts, had given Congress five out of six Assembly seats in 2008 state elections and is home turf of the Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Gulam Nabi Azad.
BJP is set to hold five mega rallies of its star campaigners – Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Raj Nath Singh and Party President Amit Shah – from November 19 to 22.
“We are going ahead full throttle to woo voters in Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban district. Our top star campaigners, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are addressing five rallies in these areas,” Chairman of BJP’s Media War Room Arun Gupta said.
BJP is working over-time to reach out to the voters in Chenab Valley and banking on “Modi magic”.
Modi, who will campaign for party candidates from Chenab Valley, is scheduled to address a public rally at Kishtwar town on November 22, a day before the electioneering for the first phase ends.
“BJP candidates bank on him immensely and party workers expressed happiness as Modi is campaigning in J&K. Crowd -puller Modi is known for wooing voters.
“Modi is a winner of hearts. He is synonymous with development. His visit to state and campaigning for BJP holds great meaning for us,” Gupta said.
