Srinagar: The University of Kashmirs lazy attitude has cost students several months of time as the varsity has failed to complete the admission process for LLM course even as four months have passed since it began.
Several students said that the last date for filing entrance form was on August 30, this year and the entrance exam was conducted on October11. However, the admission notification is yet to be announced even after four months, they said.
Interestingly, the University jumped the gun by announcing notification for self finance seats today, even as the admission notification for those who might have got selected has not been issued yet.
The Head of Department, Law, said the delay occurred because Assistant Registrar in Dean Academics was on leave.
I have already forwarded the list to Assistant Registrar for screening but he was on leave. But, now he is back and tomorrow he will look at it, Mr. Ayoub, the HoD Law, said. He asked students to have patience.
Hopefully, within next two days, the list will be out, he said.
On being asked about the delay in admission process, he said the exams are usually conducted in September and October and there has not been much delay.
He, however, said: See, it is a specialized course and we dont have sufficient infrastructure here in the varsity. We have already three LLM classes here, adding: despite of all this, we are trying our best to build infrastructure.
Students dismissed the excuses of the department in-charge saying the varsity is behaving in a brazenly amateur manner.
“One official on leave cannot put the entire admission process on halt,” a student, who had appeared for the LLM entrance, said.
Despite repeated attempts, Kashmir University Vice Chancellor couldnt be contacted. (GNS)
