Thanks to almighty that it is over now, though debris all around the Srinagar speaks everything about the devastation wrought by it. And certainly it will take time to get back on rails.
Kashmir had never witnessed such devastation in its past. The Jehlum-Dal duo had been dominating the beauty scene of the valley so far. But the other face shown weeks back have revealed their potential to traumatize every Kashmiri who have been literally fiddling with them.
In past they used to fetch earnings to dominant part of the valley. And now they took away everything they provided. Jehlum used to be savior, used to quench the thirst of people but now it quenched its own thirst. The way nature changed its colour is not so common.
Meanwhile it looked as if it was orchestration of few ugly faces, spirits, demons, beliefs out to pollute the pure air of Kashmir. As Omar tweeted, ” rescue operations are over and its time for relief and rehabilitation” but it ought to be like, ” flood furry vanished and now its time to introspect. In later tweet he might have been factual a bit. As his rescue operations were not at par with those launched by the people themselves, again literally with bare hands. However a call of introspection was much needed than the mere talk of relief-rehabilitation. Besides Omar, every single mature inhabitant of Kashmir need to look beyond the relief and decode every mysterious questions as well as messages set by the wrath of the furry. As it nowhere seems to be a natural calamity.
Nature and almighty can’t be in so much hurry to see a transition of heaven into hell. And more over the holy blessings of Sheykhul Aalm (r.a) could not evacuate the place so hastily. My people really need to open the walls of their hearts and feel the bunched, ambiguous messages , Jehlum and Dal have tried to send across. Infact people must primarily ponder over the cause which brought face to face with destruction than to ask for relief. But it does not mean we should be deprived of our rights. Keeping aside the darkest policies of Omar Govt, there are many absurd stuffs we have done.
Being Muslims, the deviation from the righteous and divine path had been a major negative transformation. Selfishness and greed have become dominant character of our lives, Jehlum and Dal had been chained gasping for breath. Our selfishness permits us to have concrete construction on the banks of glorious rivers, just to be a Srinagarite !
We dont have dust-bins, we have Dal lake. We dont have latrines, we have Dal. It is obvious that if we are using Dal lake in such a way then Dal lake will make our life hell. Jehlum also enjoys the same place.
Almighty has bestowed us with the duo to satisfy our needs but not our greed. So a self introspection can surely deliver a positive change. Even a pet dog barks if poked. Nature can be a nightmare for us if we continue with our despotic rule over it. Let it function freely as it is supposed to. It was hoped that no one can give Kashmiri a sermon on freedom but here we do need some well wisher to give us one. Lets free Jehlum and Dal before we cry for freedom for ourself.
