SRINAGAR: Senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and former MLA, Muhammad Dilawar Mir Wednesday resigned from the post of partys General Secretary.
Even though the fats and law are in my favour, I have decided to set a moral standard in my public and submitted my resignation to the president of the part, Mir said in a statement.
Recently, a court in Delhi, sentenced Mir to three year sentence in a case related to the wrongful release of rupees 30 lakh and and contract for sale of urea to his firm by public sector National Fertilizers Limited in 1993-1996.
Mir said depite resigning from party post and courts verdict; he will contest upcoming polls from Rafiabad assembly segment in north Kashmir.
